Automotive Driveline
Large suspension movement, limited installation space and harsh operating conditions are just some of the problems when taking torque/strain or temperature measurements on vehicle shafts. Combinations from standard systems parts provide optimum solutions. Shown is 6 x single channel systems used to map various torques in intermediate and final driveshafts in off road vehicles.

Transmitter Type TX31D + Battery Unit BU31 + Shaft Clamping Kit CAK + Inductive Pickup IH1
For short duration (24 hour) tests TX31D transmitter and BU31 battery unit offer simple installation. As inductive power transmission is not used the air-gap between shaft and IH1 pickup can be increased to 100 - 150mm.
Transmitter Type TX31D + Shaft Clamping Kit CAK + Inductive Power and Signal Pickup IH2
For continuous / long term measurements where an air-gap between the shaft and inductive head of 25mm is acceptable.
Transmitter Type TX31D or TX34D + Battery Unit BU31 + Inductive Pickup PA3 + Shaft Clamping Kit CAK + Inductive Loop IL2
For continuous or long term measurements where large shaft displacements occur a pre-formed static loop provides power to the transmitter and signal pickup. Loop sizes can be constructed in sizes up to 160mm x 500mm.
Transmitter Type TX31D or TX34D + Custom Shaft Clamping Split Ring TXMTGS
For harsh environments, the TXMTGS split ring assembly provides high integrity for the shaft assembly. Inductive power coupling air-gap of up to 20mm when used with IH2 inductive head, or 60mm with IL2 inductive loop.
Split ting assembly 50mm dia x 55mm axial, housing transmitter and 2 lithium cells. 120°C operating temperature, 250 hours operating life
